Detailed 4 Days Rwanda Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Rwanda and Hotel drop-off
On the first day of your Wildlife Viewing Safari, our Company representative (your safari driver) will pick you up from the Airport for a drive to the Hotel to relax from the jet lag.
In the evening undertake a tour of the City and retire back for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Scenic drive to the remarkable Akagera National Park
On the second day of your safari, drive to Akagera National Park in the Eastern boundary of Rwanda. Your journey begins after a lovely breakfast at the Hotel and drive time is 2-3 hours. On arrival, unwind at the booked Lodge while relishing the unmatched views of the savannah grasslands dotted with wandering wildlife species and in the afternoon undertake a boat ride on Lake Ihema.
This ride on the calm waters of the Lake introduces you to the Park’s Hippo and Crocodile population, not forgetting antelopes, buffaloes and elephants hydrating along the pristine Lakeshores. Overnight and delicious dinner at one of the best wilderness Lodges within Akagera National Park.
Day 3: Full day Wildlife Viewing Experience in Akagera National Park
Following a sumptuous breakfast, you will have an entire day to explore Akagera National Park with an early morning game drive, lasting 3-4 hours. The commonest game species encountered during this game drive are Kobs, vervet monkeys, Roan antelopes, Defassa waterbucks, leopards, Rothschild giraffes, serval cats, Topis, African bush elephants, common elands, black and white colobus monkeys, duikers, lions, Oribis, Cape buffaloes, bushbucks, spotted hyenas, Zebras, Olive baboons and Rhinos.
Break-off from the game drive to have lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon have another game drive with more views of wildlife and bird species. By sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. To make your evenings colorful, you will enjoy Bonfires around the Lodge accompanied with cultural dance performances.
Day 4: Return Back to Kigali and Departure
This is the last day of your safari and involves returning back to the city. Start with breakfast and conduct a morning game drive through this spectacular park with more views of animals that were missed the previous days.
Lunch will also be at the lodge and immediately check-out for a drive to Kigali International Airport, where you will catch up with your returning flight or the next destination. This marks the end of your 4 days Wildlife Safari in Akagera National Park.
