You will encounter all the major primates in Rwanda, notably; the endangered mountain Gorillas, chimpanzees, and the golden monkeys in their natural habitats; Volcanoes national park, and the Nyungwe national park.

There will be a city tour, Primate trekking, cultural encounter, and canopy walk. The 6 Days Primate Adventure in Rwanda starts and ends at Kigali international airport, with everything tailored to your taste; driver guide, meals, accommodations and transportation.

Detailed 6 Days Rwanda Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Pickup, Kigali city tour, and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

At the pickup point, airport, or your hotel; our company representative will gladly welcome you for a lifetime adventure in Rwanda; a land of a thousand hills. There will be a brief chat on how activities will carry on, before having a Kigali city tour; visiting the Genocide memorial site, local markets and then lunch.

Thereafter a 2-hour drive to Volcanoes national park; Rwanda’s most visited national park; Dinner and overnight comes last today.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Visit to the twin lakes

After breakfast, exit the lodge for early morning registration and briefing at the park headquarters; a 30-minute exercise by the park rangers, explain the trekking dos and Don’ts, and also assign members to the different gorilla families. Mountain Gorillas are only found in Africa, and their DNA is about 98% similar to that of humans, not forgetting their body structure and ability to make over 27 sounds.

Depending on Your trekking speed and the direction the apes have taken, trekking lasts for approximately 1-7 hours, plus an additional one hour for watching these gentle apes. You will thereafter have a lunch break, followed by an exciting adventure at twin Lakes, relaxing, taking photos, and enjoying the cool vibes at the water banks. There will be a sunset drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and Cultural encounter

Maintaining some routine as of the previous day, an early sunrise breakfast is first thing today, followed by a drive to the park headquarters for a pre trekking briefing, and an ultimate 1-7 hour golden monkey trekking. Golden monkeys are some of the most charming and active primate species in the wild, demanding attention and speed if one hopes to capture the best images.

After spending a maximum of one hour with these creatures, you will return to the lodge for lunch, followed by an optional one to two-hour cultural encounter with the authentic Rwandese living outside the park. The evening is flavored with dance, drama, and stories before you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

You will Wakeup strong and happy, with a tasty cup of coffee first thing today, before checking out for a drive to Nyungwe national park; home to over 13 unique primate species, with Chimpanzees leading in number. The drive offers views of rolling hills, scattered homesteads, vast water bodies and green vegetation. Have lunch en-route and then dinner and overnight at the lodge in or around the park.

Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk

After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart the lodge for the park headquarters, for briefing, and registration by the park headquarters. The rangers will explain the park rules, before accompanying you for the search, which lasts for approximately1-4hours, plus a bonus hour to watch and take photos of the chimpanzees as they play, feed, or relax. Deep in the Jungle; expect vervet monkeys, colobus monkeys, baboons, birds, and unique plant species among others.

After chimpanzee trekking, Lunch follows, and then a rewarding afternoon canopy walk; a 2-hour experience, with views of a breathtaking landscape, birds playing on treetops and, some primates. Thereafter return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Departure

After an early morning breakfast meal at the lodge, you will check out of the lodge for Kigali international airport for a flight home. There is an option of early morning activity before departing, in case your flight departs late in the evening.
