It takes you through ultimate experiences ranging from chimpanzee tracking, wildlife viewing, launch cruise and interestingly, mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park in Southwestern Uganda.

Chimpanzee trekking safaris will be conducted in Kibale Forest National Park, a home to 13 primate species that also include 1500 chimpanzees. Game viewing will be enjoyed in savanna plains of Queen Elizabeth and Lake Mburo National Parks. Detailed 9 Days Uganda Primates Tracking Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Hotel Transfer

Today will be the day you will land in at Entebbe Airport Uganda. Meet your driver guide for a quick briefing on your 9 Days Uganda Primates Tracking & Wildlife Viewing Safari Tour. After, transfer to one of the best hotels in Entebbe for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park & Evening Bigodi Guided Nature Walk

Leave your hotel room after breakfast, meet your driver guide and set off for 5-6 hours’ drive to Kibale Forest N. Park. This is a pristine rain-forest park in Western Uganda and you will access it via Mityana-Mubende-Fort Portal city. En-route, a stopover will be made at Fort Portal Tourism City for lunch and later, head to Kibale while viewing the scenic Crater Lakes.

Check into the lodge, relax a little and have an afternoon Bigodi nature walk. This rewards you with interesting sightings of primates such as red-tailed monkeys, red colobus, vervet, black and white colobus, L’Hoest; butterflies, birds, wetland mammal species, shrubs and tree species.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking experience & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Enjoy a heavy breakfast and after, leave your lodge room prepared to join others for briefing on chimp trekking guidelines. Starting at 8:00am immediately being assigned to a park guide, set off for your chimp trek lasting for 2-4 hours.

Once you have found a chimp community, expect to spend 1 hour face to face with chimpanzees but at a distance of 8-10 meters. Walk back from the forest to enjoy lunch at the lodge and later, travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day 4: Game drive in Kasenyi Plains & boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

An early morning cup of tea or coffee and after, leave your room for a morning game drive. Leave early for game viewing experience along Kasenyi Savanna Plains and takes you 2-3 hours to have a complete tour.

The wildlife species you are likely to sight include antelopes, leopards, lions, elephants, buffaloes, birds and others. Return from the Kasenyi Savanna Plains to have lunch. Another 2-3 hours will be spent on a boat cruise along Kazinga Channel. This comes with exposure to hippos, crocodiles, aquatic birds and a lot more.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Breakfast early in the morning and after, vacate your room ready to set off for Bwindi Impenetrable N. Park. Take the Southern area (Ishasha sector) of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will likely to sight the tree climbing lions. You also come across other big game prior connecting to Bwindi in the southwest. Lunch stop to be made at Savanna Resort Hotel en-route.

Day 6: Bwindi gorilla trekking tour

Have breakfast and after, leave your room with snacks, bottled water, walking stick and get to Bwindi trailhead for briefing. This will be a period to allocate to you a gorilla family and guide to lead you through the forest. Bwindi is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and a home to 459 mountain gorillas, 20 habituated gorilla groups, 4 gorilla trekking regions (Ruhija, Rushaga, Nkuringo and Buhoma).

The time to be spent on a trek varies and generally, it is unpredictable but once you locate where these apes are, you have one hour to observe, take photos then return. In the afternoon/evening, add Batwa community tour to your gorilla trek experience.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Enjoy your breakfast and after, vacate Bwindi for Lake Mburo safari. Lunch be had at Igongo Cultural Centre and then get to the park. You will have a chance to enjoy a brief game drive where you get to observe giraffes, water bucks, impalas, zebras, birds, lions and others. Go relax at the lodge and later in the afternoon, go for a boat tour on Lake Mburo.

Day 8: Nature walk & drive back to Kampala/Entebbe

Get up for an early cup of tea or coffee and later, meet an armed park guide for a game walk. This gets you a close encounter to giraffes, antelopes, zebras, birds in the savannas of Lake Mburo. After, get back from a game walk to check out of the lodge and drive back to Kampala/Entebbe. En-route stopover at Equator crossing before proceeding to Kampala/Entebbe.

Day 9: Depart from Entebbe Airport

Have breakfast and after, leave the hotel’s room to catch up with your flight back home. This marks the end of your 9 days remarkable Uganda tour.
